The Resplendent Anthias, also referred to as the Tierra Anthias or Resplendent Goldie, displays stunning color variations that make it quite captivating. One of the common color patterns features a predominantly yellow body with red accents on the anal and caudal fins. Females, on the other hand, exhibit a predominantly orange body with a pink/purple hue, complemented by a yellow nose, dorsal fin, and tail fin. Males predominantly display an orange coloration with the same pink/purple hue, but their tail is nearly clear, and their pectoral fins have striking deep pink edges.

In their aquarium habitat, Resplendent Anthias are generally found in the middle levels of the tank, but they also require ample hiding places, such as caves and ledges, to feel secure. While a 70-gallon tank is sufficient for a single fish, if you plan to keep a group consisting of one male and several females, a larger tank of at least 125 gallons is needed to provide enough space.

Like other Anthias species, the Resplendent Anthias is hermaphroditic, meaning that if a dominant male perishes, the largest female in the group can undergo changes and transform into a male, assuming the role of the new dominant figure.

To ensure their well-being, a varied diet is crucial for the Resplendent Anthias once they have acclimated to their new aquarium. This should include a mix of frozen mysis shrimp, enriched frozen brine shrimp, and over time, they may also accept high-quality flake foods, offered in small quantities throughout the day. Additionally, having an attached refugium that cultivates copepods and amphipods serves as a valuable source of nutritious live food, keeping these active planktivores content and well-fed.
