Occasionally found in the aquarium trade, the elongated pale blue body of this fish makes it a unique and attractive addition to either fish-only or reef aquariums. To create a suitable environment, provide numerous hiding places such as rocky crevices and a finely grained deep sand bed where it can seek shelter when threatened or rest at night. While it hovers in open water, it stays close to safe areas to swiftly retreat if necessary.

However, caution should be taken when choosing tank mates. The fish should not be housed with aggressive species like groupers, dottybacks, triggerfishes, or aggressive angelfishes.

A well-balanced diet is essential for this fish's health. Offer a variety of meaty foods, including fortified brine shrimp, mysis, and other marine fresh or frozen options. It's best to finely chop the food and dispense it upstream so the water current carries it to the area where the fish resides. Feeding this fish twice a day will keep it healthy and content.

If you encounter difficulties with feeding initially, consider introducing live foods like adult fortified brine shrimp to entice it to eat. Patience and persistence will help ensure the fish's successful acclimation and feeding habits in the aquarium.
