The Linear Blenny, also referred to as the Klausewitz's or Lined Blenny due to its distinctive coloration, is a smaller-sized fish with a comical appearance characterized by large eyes and a small mouth. The fish is usually brown to black on the upper half and white on the lower half. It makes an excellent addition to both reef and peaceful fish-only aquariums of any size.

This blenny is typically found among crevices and rocks on the aquarium's bottom, requiring a minimum tank size of 30 gallons with ample live rock for grazing, perching, and hiding. It should not be kept with aggressive fish species that might intimidate it into hiding.

The Linear Blenny is considered reef-safe, but it may nibble at the polyps or bases of Acropora sp. and other SPS corals. In an SPS-dominated aquarium with immature colonies, this fish may damage Acropora sp. and Montipora sp.

The Linear Blenny's diet should include vegetable matter, such as marine and blue-green algae-containing frozen and dried foods. Additionally, it will feed on and help manage the growth of algae within the aquarium.
