The Starry Blenny, also known as the Snowflake Blenny, has a dark brown mottled body with white dots, and its pectoral and tail fins are yellow. This fish is not typically aggressive, except when tank mates have a similar shape to its own. Therefore, it is best to keep it singly unless in a larger tank and paired with a mate. The Starry Blenny enjoys perching and hopping from rock to rock in search of microalgae to graze on.
A well-established aquarium of at least 30 gallons with multiple swimming levels and ample rock formations is a suitable environment for the Starry Blenny. The fish is best suited for aquariums with large amounts of natural algae to feed on. In addition to microalgae, the diet can be supplemented with vegetable matter, Spirulina, and herbivore preparations.
