The Blue Dot Jawfish, scientifically known as the Bluespotted Jawfish, was initially discovered in the Tropical Eastern Pacific back in 1991 by Allen and Robertson. This vibrant fish exhibits an enchanting array of colors, with striking contrasts of yellows, oranges, and blues. The head and body are adorned with iridescent, irregular-shaped blue spots, adding to its captivating appearance.

For the Blue Dot Jawfish, a well-established aquarium of at least 30 gallons or larger is recommended. It should be furnished with plenty of live rock and a substrate layer of fine to moderately sized sand, providing ample horizontal living space and a minimum depth of 3" to facilitate its burrowing behavior. A tight-fitting canopy is essential to prevent the fish from jumping out of the aquarium. While it is generally peaceful towards other fish, it is territorial and may engage in conflicts with its own kind unless they form a mated pair.

In terms of diet, the Blue Dot Jawfish should be offered a variety of marine fish, crustacean flesh, and mysid shrimp. To maintain its well-being, it should be fed at least three times per day.
